Driving While License Suspended

Driving While License Suspended is usually a Class A Misdemeanor, meaning the maximum penalty is one year in the county jail and/or a $2,500.00 fine. The minimum sentence is court supervision. Under some circumstances (alcohol related suspensions involving a conviction) mandatory county Jail time or substantial community service is imposed.

A driver can be suspended by the IL. Secretary of State for many reasons, typically for too many traffic violations. Thea, in most cases, can help you remove a suspension and reinstate your license quickly.

Some suspensions, such as a Statutory Summary Suspension accompanying a DUI, require a court hearing or are eligible for a Judicial Driving Permit. (See DUI link for details)

All suspensions require payment of a reinstatement fee to the Illinois Secretary  of State; Thea can explain the procedure and advise as to methods to shorten the reinstatement procedure.

Competitive fees and payment plans available.
