Divorce/Custody

"Thank God Thea represented me in my divorce. I was very naive and had let my husband always handle our finances. She was patient, knowledgeable and compassionate; I would not have survived the process had it not been for her."

"After my first two lawyers had withdrawn and little had been accomplished, a friend recommended Thea. She and my wife's attorney worked out a settlement within two months. I really felt comfortable with her and felt she did a great job representing my interests."

Thea has represented both men and women in all adjacent counties, including Cook. She has represented fathers in custody disputes and has tried complex cases before judges.

Frequently asked questions:

  • How long will it take? If the parties are in agreement, a dissolution of marriage can usually be completed within a month to six weeks.

  • How much will it cost? That depends on the county the action is filed in and the length of time it takes to reach an agreement.

  • How much child support will be paid? Illinois statutes set forth minimum percentage guidelines, i.e., one child = 20% of the obligor's net income; two children = 25%; three children = 32%. Net income is also defined by statute.

Thea will be happy to discuss your situation with you for no initial charge.
